1st and 2nd Primary: Sticker work

When we finish up a unit in our activity book, one important and fun exercise that we always do involves stickers! It's one of the students' favourite parts of the unit!

They have to carefully read the words, find its picture, stick it in its correct place, and then write the word beside its sticker.

It's a great activity as the students can practice their reading comprehension, and their writing skills in English, but in a fun way!

We are a few photos from the class Guinardo who were working on the latest unit : the toy cupboard!

1st Primary: How much sugar is in our food?

Our first level students recently took part in some work about how much sugar was in our food.

They had to make a guess about how many spoons of sugar were in things such as:

a banana
milk
orange juice
a fizzy drink
a bread roll
a yoghurt
an apple......

Then we check our answers! The student were surprised to see that there are 7 spoons of sugar in one can of a fizzy drink, 6 in a small chocolate bar and only 2 spoons of sugar in a banana or an apple!
They discovered that some foods are good for you and that others are bad for you if you eat or drink them a lot.

To help us remember this important information we made a special spoon to play a good/bad for you game.

Below you can see a photos of them making their spoons:

Next, once the spoons were completed we took turns in calling out names of different foods and the students had to show the good or the bad side of the spoon and shout out if it was "Good for you!" or "Bad for you!"

The students learnt a lot of new information and also really enjoyed the activity!
